This is one of my favourite sweets. Whenever i feel like having a dessert, this comes first in my mind because its easy to make and also yummy. Here goes the recipe.....

- 1cup Gram flour (Besan), sifted
- 1/4 cup Ghee( solidified)
- 1/4 cup Olive oil (light. NOT Extra Virgin). or use all ghee
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- cashews( as required)
- 2 pods cardamom
Method
- Sift the gram flour(besan).
- Add the oil and ghee together in a thick bottomed pan.
- Once the ghee melts add the gram flour and cashews together in the pan and keep frying on a low-medium heat until the gram flour and cashews turn slightly golden colour.
- Meantime combine water and sugar in a pan and allow it to boil. ( no longer than it dissolves)
- Now add the sugar syrup into the gram flour mixture and keep stirring until it absorbs all the water and its not sticking to the pan. ( do not over cook it, otherwise the halwa will become too hard)
- Now add the crushed cardamom, mix well.
- Remove the pan from stove top and enjoy the treat with your family.
